RMS Queen Mary

Begun in 1930, the Queen Mary took her maiden voyage in 1936.  The 1,000-foot liner had 776 cabin class, 784 tourist class, and 579 3rd class cabins.  During World War II she transported as many as 15,000 soldiers at a time to Europe.  Retired by the Cunard Line in 1967 after 1001 Atlantic crossings, she was bought by the City of Long Beach and converted into a hotel/entertainment center.
