Trails and Treasures Home Page Road Trips Searching for Fred Harvey, Fall 2006.htm
Trinidad
Trinidad was the last stop for the westbound Santa Fe before heading up over Raton Pass. On this visit, I visited the Santa Fe Trail Museum with its Baca House and Bloom Museum and the A. R. Mitchell Museum, as well as searching out some Fred Harvey sites.
The
Baca House is a two-story adobe that was owned by a prominent Santa Fe Trail
trader--Felipe Baca.
The
Bloom Mansion is an 1882 Victorian owned by a merchant, banker, and cattle
baron.
Surrounding the homes, the museum cultivates an historic garden with some gorgeous amaranth.
