Santa Fe
On this trip to Santa Fe, I came to attend an Elderhostel sponsored by the Ghost Ranch entitled "All Aboard! Railroad History of Northern New Mexico." Along with attending classroom lectures, we rode a working freight train to Lamy and the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.

The La Fonda Hotel was operated by Fred Harvey from 1926 to 1968. Many of the works of art installed by Mary Colter remain, including a series of paintings that can be found on Fred Harvey-published postcards. However, the old open-air patio has been enclosed and turned into a dining room.
