Ajo Mountain Drive

The 21-mile Ajo Mountain Drive leads to more rugged country and has 22 numbered stops.  There are great vista views along this route which is dominated by 4,808-foot Mount Ajo.  At stop 13, there is a short trail (3/4-mile) that leads towards a natural arch over 720 feet above the parking area.  At stop 15, the Estes Canyon-Bull Pasture 4.1-mile loop trail is a rugged hike that gains 800 feet but provides spectacular views.  There were lots of birds in the lower portion of Estes Canyon.
