Coachella Valley Preserve

The Coachella Valley Preserve is located ten miles east of Palm Springs in the Colorado Desert.  It was established to protect the fringe-toed lizard.  http://www.ca.blm.gov/caso/wf-coachella.html

Within the preserve, there are more than 1500 California fan palms.  Many of them are located along the McCallum Trail.
