Lost Horse Mine

The trail to Lost Horse Mine is one of the most popular in the park.  It follows an old mining road for two miles with a net gain of only 400 feet in elevation.

The Lost Horse Mine is the largest, essentially intact mining site in the park.  A large stamp mill, remnants of rock buildings, and other equipment can be seen along with the entrance to the 500 feet deep mine shaft.  This was one of the most profitable mines in the park.
