Rainbow Basin National Natural Landmark
Rainbow
Basin National Natural Landmark is just a few miles north of Barstow. The
multi-hued sedimentary layers were laid down between 10 and 30 million years
ago. Wind and water have eroded the basin, creating narrow canyons where every
turn leads to a colorful display and geologic marvels.
